The Legatus experience is a very personal matter. The chapter event is a highlight of many members’ social life. Recitation of the rosary, Mass, and an evening with executives and their spouses is most rewarding.

Two things about my fellow Legates continue to impress me. First, Legates are models of faith in their personal lives. Second, their example to family, friends, employees, business associates and the community has never been of greater value than it is today.

I have shared some thoughts about what it means to study and live the faith, the first two tenets of the mission statement. These aspects of one’s faith life are central to attain the salvation assured us if we remain vigilant.

You may recall that Kathie and I have been members of the Chicago Chapter for over 15 years and should certainly be familiar with Legatus and its mission. But our visits to chapters around the country have confirmed something we have known all along: Legatus members are faith-filled, generous, competent, busy people who manage to find time to serve the Church, their families and society in a myriad of ways.

In chapter after chapter I have observed men and women who are at one and the same time business professionals and people of faith who come together to grow in that faith. Legatus is feeding their spiritual hunger while they serve Jesus Christ and his Church.
